news
time to finally say it. the zombie mosaic is over.
feb 09 2010
on the web at least. the graphic novel is already in the works. it's looking great so far, but it's going to be a whole new long journey. if everything goes smoothly and as planned, hopefully by year's end or early next year the book will be released. so stay tuned!
the web project's been 4 years in the making, and it's been a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. but it's really gratifying to see it finally finished. i had a goal when i started it, and i'm happy that i saw it until the end, even if it took longer than i had hoped. i wasn't always happy with some of the pieces (not because of the art i was given, but how i handled it), but the whole is always worth more than it's pieces.
i'd like to take a moment to give a huge huge HUGE thank you to all the artists (i hope you're reading) that contributed and put in their hard work in something that was more about creativity, passion, inspiration, and of course a love for zombies, than anything else. thank you, thank you, thank you guys. i obviously could not have done it without any of you. i only go to you guys because i don't have even a fraction of your talent. and this was my way of being a part of yours somehow. your generosity, patience, and hard work means the world to me.
my close friend, thorsten ebert, said to me once that it was good to see that the project was continuing (we had a hiatus and subsequently returned). he said that so many project's like this are never finished. when he said that, i knew i had to finish it. i didn't care whether people liked it or not. whether they hated it. whether they loved it. whether i had 1 fan or 5000. i had to finish it for myself. but as i discovered later, more than anything i had to finish it for thorsten. if it wasn't for him, this project never would have happened. he helped inspire it. and after his accident, i knew i had to finish it for him.
this is dedicated to you, thorsten. hopefully one day, the world will somehow see your absolute brilliance.
- andrew
